I'm currently in a bit of a quandary with a story I'm working on, of the sort in which logic is having trouble reconciling with creativity. It's that moment I encounter with everything I write: how do I give reason to senseless occurrences? The only idea I have is to find some intricate way to tie it all in together, while balancing it against the need to not let it get too convoluted. Last time I was, it ended up 70 pages over the limit.
As yet, I haven't found that intricate string.
