Photocritic.org has an excellent article on how to make your own macro lens for an SLR camera. It's quite old news, being originally published in 2005 (although it did appear in a 2009 issue of Make), but I think it's something worth sharing for anyone that wants to dabble in the photography of the minuscule without having to skimp on their rent for two months.
